An ultra luxury tented lodge ideally located in the Naukluft Mountains. Enjoy sheer luxury with exquisite views from your bed or private splash pool.

Built and completed in 2009 on the Moon Mountain Top, as fixed “tented rooms” with all the comforts of a room, but the airy feeling of a tent. Moon Mountain Lodge is ideally situated for any holiday guest who wants to visits the world’s highest dunes in Sossusvlei, as the lodge is only 50km away from the entrance gate and close to the quaint little village of Solitaire.

Rooms:

All rooms offer breath taking views of the Namib Naukluft scenery, including mountains, dunes, Springbok, Oryx, Mountain Zebra and birds.

The lodge offers three different room types:

• 4 Standard rooms, suitable for older children and drivers, provided with en-suite toilet and shower.
• 11 Luxury rooms provided with en-suite toilet and shower, fridge, telephone and private deck with splash pool, perfect for romantic sun-downers.
• 6 suites provided with en-suite bathrooms with Bide, private deck and splash pool, telephones, fridge and lounge.

The Lodge:

The lodge’s Nebula Restaurant offers seating for 46 people and traditional Namibian Cuisine. The Cosmos Bar is fully licensed and has a big adjoining sun deck from which stars can be gazed upon at night. The Deck also presents a spectacular view of the Petrified Dunes of the Namib Desert and sunsets to awe you. As we strive to keep noise pollution to a minimum and guest relaxation as a priority, rooms are not fitted with TV’s, the lodge however does have a small cinema, complete with large flat screen TV, surround sound, DVD player and DSTV. This room is also suitable for small conferences of up to 17 people.

The lodge was built in the middle of nature, it was done so with care to the future and with as little impact on the Nature as possible.

Proud to have used recycled plastic instead of wood and its own water recycling plant, watering an organic garden are just a few measures used to make it ecologically friendly.

Iyaloo community project was started by Red Sky adventures in Namibia and is designed to assist employees and their families with skills that can be utilized to earn extra income. The aim of the project was to use materials and resources from used items of furniture & discarded building materials.

The first community group involved in this program was the Ladies Support Group from the Aids Care Trust in Windhoek, Namibia. Ladies were trained in making products and on attaining competency, they then were enabled to earn income from their endeavors.

The Leisure Pleasure group approached Iyaloo and offered them the contract to make all the bedding, towels & laundry bags for the first two lodges. This is their largest project to date and will ensure a sustainable income for many years to come.

The overall objective for this project is to become a continued enterprise development program. Leisure Pleasure Lodges will continue to use Iyaloo as the sole providers of these products. Further possibilities are being explored to utilise their products for the curio shops.
